MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411029270 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology And Science, Pilani, Rajasthan, on April 10, 2024, for 'an enhanced isothermal dehumidification and regeneration system with dead volume reduction in heat exchangers.'

Inventor(s) include Gouse Ahammad Shaik; and Mrinal Ketan Jagirdar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides an isothermal sorption-based air dehumidification and regeneration system with a dead volume reduction in heat exchangers, said system comprising a pair of solid desiccant-coated fin-tube heat exchangers (DCFTHXs) having fins coated with a solid desiccant material, wherein the pair of solid desiccant-coated fin-tube heat exchangers (DCFTHXs) configured to a dehumidify air by adsorbing a water vapour and to undergo regeneration by desorbing the water vapour; a plurality of tubes enclosed within the solid desiccant-coated fin-tube heat exchangers (DCFTHXs) through which water flows, wherein the water is cool and hot water for dehumidification process and regeneration process; a controlling unit configured to switch mode of the solid desiccant-coated fin-tube heat exchangers (DCFTHXs) between an adsorption mode and a desorption mode, wherein the adsorption mode for dehumidification process and the desorption mode for regeneration process."
