Inventor(s) include Prof L A Kumaraswamidhas; Mr. Dharma Raj H; Prof. V M S R Murthy; Mr. Aayan Rai; Mr. Saurabh Raj; and Mr. Akshit Bhagat.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An Energy-Efficient, Idler-Free Guided Bulk Material Conveyor System Employing Belt-Mounted Wheels The present invention relates to a belt conveyor system (100) for transporting bulk materials such as coal, ore, and other granular materials over long distances. The system (100) comprises a conveyor belt (101) configuring two continuous parts, a carrying run (103(a)) and a return run (103(b)) for transportation of materials. A plurality of wheels (102) is mounted onto the conveyor belt (101) at predetermined longitudinal intervals, establishing a defined clearance between the wheel (102) and the belt (101) while moving integrally. The wheels (102) roll on a plurality of rail guides (202(a), 203(a)) positioned beneath the belt (101). A pulley arrangement (300) is configured with the belt (101) carrying the plurality of wheels (102) wrapped around its outer periphery. A complete arrangement is structured in a H-shaped support frame with an upper (202) and a lower (203) horizontal members supporting the carrying run (103(a)) and the return run (103(b)) of the belt (101)."
