MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006552 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, New Delhi, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'an end mold structure for a door opening trim of a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Sreejith MP; Nalinikanta Biswal; Lokesh Khandelwal; Arnab Sandilya; Rajat Handa; and Amulya Kali Ray.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates an end mold structure for a door opening trim of a vehicle. The end mold structure (100) includes the door opening trim (20) mounted on a door opening flange (40) of the vehicle and an end mold element (10) is 5 integrated with the door opening trim (20). The end mold element (10) has a plurality of ribs (14) oriented along a longitudinal direction of the end mold element (10). The plurality of ribs (14) is configured to interfere with a side body outer panel (80) of the vehicle. The end mold element (10) is configured to cover gap between the door opening trim (20) and an instrument panel (30) of the vehicle. The end 10 mold element (10) facilitates in covering the gaps between the instrument panel (30) and the door opening trim (20) and provides ease of assembly of the instrument panel (30) of the vehicle."
