MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511032149 A) filed by Gsc Glass Pvt. Ltd.; and Roy, Mahesh Saran, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on March 31, 2025, for 'an electrochromic device and a method of preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Roy, Mahesh Saran; and Malik, Mahima Sethi.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an electrochromic device that allow to adjust light transmittance and control solar heat gain. The device of the present disclosure was made with polymeric electrochromic system consisting of electrochrome and Li+ ions. Employing such polymeric system as dielectric medium in the form of a parallel plate capacitor device of size 1417 mm x 817 mm electro chromic window was made. The electrochromic device of the present disclosure, preferably electrochromic windows have potential application in Railway, Facad, Sunroof and architectural buildings as it is having ability to change tint at the flick of a switch allowing regulation of temperature inside the cabin without compromising viewing across the window."
