MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531124227 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Patna, Bihar, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'an automatic wave energy harvesting system.'
Inventor(s) include Karali Patra; Krishna Veer Singh Gurjar; Shivani; and Shubhashani Shekhar.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an automatic wave energy harvesting system (100), that includes a lever ratio variation device (70) designed to eliminate manual intervention typically required for lever ratio modification. This invention integrates a lever ratio variation device (70), enabling the system to automatically adapt the lever ratio in response to tidal driven water level variations within the channel. The system (100) includes a floating body attached to a lever (20) to transmit the motion of the floating body to the system (100) by setting lever ratios to decide the amount of stretching stroke imparted on an energy generator (50). The automatic change in the lever ratio according to the constant changing water level in water channel so as to adapt the system to the tidal patterns of coastal region."
