MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611052912 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 25, for 'an automatic defect detection system for molded components.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Abhishek Pratap Singh; and Prachee Srivastava.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automatic defect detection system for molded components includes a component receiving unit, a positioning fixture, an imaging enclosure, an illumination assembly, image capture modules, a processing controller, a decision interface, a reject handling unit, and a data logging module. Molded parts are positioned, illuminated under selected optical conditions, imaged from one or more views, and computationally analyzed for flash, sink, short-shot, crack, contour deviation, and surface blemish. The system generates accept or reject decisions, separates nonconforming parts, and stores traceable inspection records for manufacturing quality control."
