MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006365 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'an automatic accident detection and emergency response system and a method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention an automatic accident detection and emergency response system (100), including a sensing module (102) installed on a vehicle, configured to detect any sudden changes in speed of the vehicle, along with detect any impact shocks over the vehicle. The sensing module (102) may also include capturing multiple images around the vehicle to detect severity of a collision of the vehicle. The sensing module (102) is wirelessly coupled with one or more processing unit (108) for analyzing data received from the sensing module (102). A user interface (112) wirelessly coupled with the one or more processing unit (108) via a communication module (114). In some embodiments, the user interface (112) via the communication module (114) may be configured to determine a location of the accident, provide real time data information to one or more authorized emergency personnel and transmitting SOS messages and location data to pre-fed emergency contacts."
