MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124127 A) filed by B V Raju Institute Of Technology, Narsapur, Telangana, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'an automated vacuum-and-mop cleaning robot employing real-time path adjustment using ultrasonic sensing.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. S. Saravanan; Dr. N. Bhoopal; Dr. K. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy; N. Aashish Bharadwaj; Md. Khaja Farman; L. T. Hemalatha; and Kotha Chandrakala.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an autonomous dual-function robotic cleaning system capable of performing vacuum-based dry cleaning and water-assisted mopping using an integrated embedded control architecture. The robot employs an ESP32 microcontroller that processes real-time distance measurements from an ultrasonic sensor to execute dynamic path adjustment and avoid obstacles during operation. A 12 V vacuum motor performs dry cleaning, while a submersible water pump and a 6 V mopping motor facilitate controlled wet cleaning. Sequential activation of these cleaning functions ensures efficient operation without interference between suction and wetting mechanisms. Differential drive DC motors controlled through an L298N motor driver enable smooth navigation and directional control. The invention provides a low-cost, modular, and reliable household cleaning solution capable of operating autonomously across varied indoor environments."
