MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611005607 A) filed by Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, on Jan. 20, for 'an automated system for assisting alternating-nostril breathing, and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Jain, Priyanka; Bachan, Smit; and Jaint, Bhavnesh.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosed system (100) includes a supply unit (102) configured to supply air to a main tube (104) in fluid communication with the supply unit (102). At least one pressure sensor (106) is operatively coupled to the main tube (104). The pressure sensor is configured to generate a pressure signal representative of air pressure within the main tube (104). A control unit (108) is operatively connected to the supply unit (102) and the pressure sensor (106), to regulate the air supply based on detected pressure. The system (100) also includes a valve arrangement (110) configured to selectively control airflow through a left nostril and a right nostril of a user, such that upon receiving the generated pressure signal the control unit (108) operates the valve arrangement (110) to alternately permit inhalation and exhalation through the left nostril and the right nostril in a controlled breathing cycle."
