MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132901 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'an automated system and method for migrating oracle databases to snowflake using intelligent schema mapping script-based automation and data validation..'
Inventor(s) include Malarkodi M; Nagarajan S; and Vikram D.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an automated system for transferring databases from Oracle to a Snowflake cloud data warehouse and in a better, accurate and reliable manner. The system is designed to minimize manual effort and eliminate common errors that occur during traditional database migration processes. The present invention consists of several functional modules that is work together to complete the migration process. These include automated extraction of Oracle schema information, and oracle related information intelligent mapping of Oracle data types to Snowflake-compatible formats, automated generation of Snowflake table creation scripts, tables and structured data extraction, and automated data loading using Snowflake's native loading mechanisms. To ensure that the migrated data is correct, the system performs several levels of validation, such as row count comparison, checksum validation, random data sampling, and constraint validation. Any problems identified during migration are automatically classified into specific error categories, such as schema errors, and table errors data type errors, constraint violations, or load errors, and recorded through detailed logs and reports. The invention also supports incremental migration, always which allows only recently added or modified records to be migrated without affecting existing data. The entire workflow is controlled through modular shell scripts with optional Python integration, enabling parallel execution, duplication and scalability for large enterprise databases. By automating form conversion, data migration, validation and error handling, the proposed system significantly reduces migration time."
