MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421065235 A) filed by Padcare Labs Private Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on Aug. 29, 2024, for 'an assembly, a method and a system for separating pulp and plastic from mixed waste.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to the field of waste management. In particular, it relates to an assembly (100), a method and a system is for separating pulp and plastic from mixed waste. The assembly comprises a chamber (5) mounted on a metal plate (10); at least one bladed unit (15), configured at a lower compartment of the chamber (5); a motor (35); motor (35); and a drainage valve (30) having an automated flow control configured with the chamber for separating slurry from the mixed waste. The motor (35) connected through a belt drive (25) for power movement of a perforated disc (16) configured with the bladed unit (15). The invention is a perforation-based technology for recycling and segregating the mixed materials, i.e., pulp and plastic. It is efficient mechanism with more than 99% recovery and optimal purity of pulp and plastic. Advantageously, it mitigates the carbon emissions associated with the traditional landfill and incineration disposal."
