MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311086560 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 18, 2023, for 'an arrangement for preventing heat loss in a refrigerator.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An arrangement (200) for preventing heat loss in a refrigerator (100) is provided. The arrangement (200) includes a refrigerating compartment (112), a door (104) configured for covering the refrigerating compartment (112), a curtain (202) for covering the plurality of storage compartments (102). When the door (104) is in open position, a thread based cylindrical roller (208 coupled with the curtain (202) for opening and closing, a gear arrangement (212) having plurality of gears mechanically coupled with the one of the rollers of the plurality of cylindrical rollers (204) for driving the plurality of cylindrical rollers (204). The opening of the door (104) drives the gear arrangement (212), the gear arrangement drives the rollers to move the curtain (202) from left to right direction for covering the plurality of storage compartments."
