MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088432 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 23, 2023, for 'an arrangement for preventing foul smell from a laundry.'
Inventor(s) include Ghungarde Vikas Sajan.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[0052] An arrangement (100) for preventing a foul smell from a washed laundry left out inside a washing machine (112) is provided. The arrangement (100) includes a drum assembly, a motor for rotating at least one of the drums, a control unit (102) for controlling all the operations of the washing machine (112), a load detection module (104) for detecting the load of the laundry, a timing module (106) for detecting the time interval of the washed laundry left out inside the drum assembly; and an alert system (108) communicatively coupled with the control unit (102). Based on the time interval of the washed laundry left out inside the drum assembly, the control unit (102) operates at least one of an alert system (108) for alerting the user at different time intervals or operates a shower rinse cycle after a predetermined time interval for removing the foul smell from the washed clothes."
