MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088433 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 23, 2023, for 'an arrangement for cleaning a filter of an appliance.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[0045] An arrangement (100) for an automatic cleaning of a filter assembly (102) of an appliance is provided. The arrangement (100) includes a filter assembly (102), a main water supply (104) hose for allowing flow from a source into the filter assembly (102), a control unit, a sensing module (132) for detecting the quality of incoming water, a plurality of solenoid valves (116)for regulating the flow of flowing water and a water tank for storing the filtered water. When the sensing module (132) detects the turbidity of the filter assembly (102) is more than a predefined value, the control unit operates the plurality of solenoid valves (116) one after other for initial cleaning of the filter assembly (102) and for flushing the water after initial cleaning, and then back washing the filter assembly (102) from the water flowing form the water source for the effective cleaning of the filter assembly (102)."
