MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087011 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Dec. 19, 2023, for 'an arrangement for automatic lint filter clog detection.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[0047] An arrangement (120) for automatic clog detection in a lint filter assembly (126) of a washing machine (100) is disclosed. The arrangement (120) includes a drum assembly provided inside a cabinet of the washing machine (100) for washing laundry, a lint filter assembly (126) arranged on an inner surface of the drum assembly, a control unit (204) for controlling all the operation of the washing machine (100) and a lint clog detection arrangement (200) for detecting the lint inside the lint filter assembly (126). The lint clog detection arrangement (200) includes a positioning module (202) and an optical sensing module (206). During the detection of the lint particles inside the lint filter assembly (126), the control unit (204) align the drum assembly with the optical sensing module (206) and the optical sensing module (206) detects the amount of lint particles accumulated inside the linter filter assembly (126)."
