MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411001446 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited, New Delhi, on Jan. 8, 2024, for 'an apparatus for determining a loose electrical connection in an energy meter.'

Inventor(s) include Kotian, Madhava N; Gupta, Aditya; and Phadke, Satyajit.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure pertains an apparatus (100) for determining a loose electrical connection in an energy meter. The apparatus (100) includes one or more sensing devices (102-1, 102-2, 102-3, 102-4) connected to each of a plurality of terminals (112-1, 112-2, 112-3, 112-4) of the energy meter. The one or more sensing devices (102-1, 102-2, 102-3, 102-4) are configured to detect temperature of the corresponding terminal of the plurality of terminals (112-1, 112-2, 112-3, 112-4) and generate an abnormality signal for the corresponding terminal when the detected temperature is greater than a threshold value. The apparatus (100) includes a multiplexer (104) coupled to the one or more sensing devices (102-1, 102-2, 102-3, 102-4). The multiplexer (104) is configured to combine the abnormality signals received from the one or more sensing devices (102-1, 102-2, 102-3, 102-4) and generate a trigger signal. The apparatus (100) also includes a control unit (106) coupled to the multiplexer (104) and is configured to detect the loose electrical connection in the plurality of terminals (112-1, 112-2, 112-3, 112-4) based on the generated trigger signal."
