MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421011540 A) filed by G. H. Raisoni College Of Engineering; and G. H. R. Labs And Research Centre, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'an animal detection system.'

Inventor(s) include Turankar, Aditya; Purohit, Ananya Deepak; Rekalwar, Shweta; Lokhande, Sargam; and Agrawal, Umang.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to an animal detection system. animal detection system using Pattern Recognition technology, aimed at enhancing road safety and minimizing accidents caused by animal presence on roads. Leveraging a combination of cameras and sensors, the system efficiently detects animals (103), particularly if they are on the road (104), triggering alerts such as blinking lights (105) to notify drivers. Moreover, it monitors for the presence of deceased animals within a specific timeframe (106), ensuring prompt removal to maintain road cleanliness and prevent further accidents. Detected events are transmitted to a central receiver (107), with notifications sent to the National Monitoring Center (NMC) (108) for appropriate actions. This system offers a comprehensive solution to mitigate the risks associated with animal-vehicle collisions, contributing to safer road environments. Through its utilization of pattern recognition technology, it achieves accurate and real-time detection, thereby enhancing overall road safety measures."
