MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421015867 A) filed by Hyundai Mobis Co. Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on March 6, 2024, for 'an alert system for stalker vehicle detection.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a vehicle security system (100) for detecting and alerting about stalker vehicles in real-time. The system comprises a plurality of cameras (102a, 102b, 102c...) mounted on the rear of a target vehicle (104), providing a 180-degree view and capturing images during motion. An electronic control unit (ECU) (106) receives the captured images, which are processed by a server (108). The server includes a processing unit (108a) to extract vehicle images, analyze following patterns, and recognize license plates using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). A matching and validating module (108b) monitors the time duration and persistence of following vehicles, while an alert generator (108c) notifies the ECU (106), ensuring enhanced safety and security."
