MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641005988 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College; Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 21, for 'an alert system based on ai and iot for wildlife movement monitoring.'

Inventor(s) include Thiviyesh K; P Shanmugam; and Subbulakshmi S.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Human-wildlife conflict is increasingly risky in forest buffer zones. It affects biodiversity and threatens the safety and livelihoods of rural communities. This project introduces a smart system to monitor wildlife movement and send alerts in real time. It combines Internet of Things (loT) sensors with A11ificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms. The system uses motion detectors, thermal 1magmg cameras, and GPS modules to gather environmental and location data about wildlife activity. 15 YOL0v8, a top object detection model, accurately identifies animals in video frames. A Long ShortTem1 Memory (LSTM) neural network predicts future movement patterns. Edge AI processing runs on platforms like NVIDIA Jetson Nano or Raspberry Pi with Coral TPU. This setup ensures quick computation without needing cloud services. When an intrusion is expected, the system sends realtime alerts tluough GSM, mobile apps, or public sirens. The proposed solution improves wildlife 20 conservation, cuts crop loss, and enhances human safety by allowing quick, automated responses, even in remote areas."
