MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517070469 A) filed by Autoliv Development AB, Vargarda, Sweden, on July 24, for 'an airbag to be part of a wearable safety system and a wearable safety system comprising a harness supporting such airbag.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An airbag con?gured to be part of a wearable safety system to allow the provision of a facial protection is provided. The airbag (100) comprises a C-shaped neck portion (4) having a mouth (9) merging with a central opening (10) configured to receive the neck of a user. The neck portion (4) is allowed to partially encircle the neck of the user. The airbag further comprises a first and a second elongated face portion (5) extending from the C-shaped neck portion (4) in an area opposite the mouth (9), each face portion (5) having two opposing long sides. A first attachment portion (20) of one of two opposing long sides of the first face portion (5) is attached to an inner peripheral edge portion (23) of the central opening (10) in an area adjacent a first edge portion (12) of the mouth (9), and a first attachment portion (22) of one of two opposing long sides of the second face portion (5) is attached to an inner peripheral edge portion (23) of the central opening (10) in an area adjacent a second edge portion (12) of the mouth (9). Further, a wearable safety system comprising a harness (200) is provided."
