MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411030509 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., New Delhi, on April 16, 2024, for 'an air intake system of a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an air intake system (100) for a vehicle. The air intake system (100) comprises an air inlet pipe (102) connected to an air filter (104). An air duct (106) is positioned between a second end (102b) of the air inlet pipe 5 (102) and the air filter (104). The air duct (106) comprises a first opening (114) connected to the air inlet pipe (102) and a second opening (116) exposed to the atmosphere. The air intake system (100) comprises a control unit (108), a water sensor (110), and a drive motor (112). The water sensor (110) detects water at the opening (105) of the first end (102a) of the air inlet pipe (102), and the control unit 10 (108) activates the drive motor (112) to rotate a valve flap (118) of the air duct (106) from the first position to the second position upon detecting water."
