MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521090498 A) filed by Mahle Anand Thermal Systems Private Limited, Chakan, Maharashtra, on Sept. 22, for 'an air filter assembly for a retro fitment in an automobile hvac system.'

Inventor(s) include Nileshkumar Chandrakant Khachane; Maneesh Arora; Prashant Mohan Raut; Sanghapal Kishanrao Kayapak; and Hrishikesh Sudhindra Vaidya.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An air filter assembly (100) for a retro fitment in an automobile HVAC system is disclosed. The air filter assembly for a retro fitment in an automobile HVAC system includes a base plate, a circular-shaped filter media and a plurality of stoppers. The base plate includes a plurality of crushing ribs to enable a press fit between the air filter assembly and an inner circumference of a blower scroll venturi profile of the automobile HVAC system. The circular-shaped filter media is coupled to the base plate via a plurality of locking features and the plurality of stoppers are positioned on a circumference of the base plate to prevent rotation of the circular-shaped filter media."
