MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611055015 A) filed by Abes Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on April 30, for 'an agentic ai based system and method for proactive security of the people inside the elevator.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shelley Gupta; and Ms. Rashim Rana.

The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an agentic artificial intelligence-based system and method for proactive safety and security of individuals within elevator systems. The system comprises a multi-agent architecture including a hardware agent for data acquisition, a reasoning agent utilizing generative artificial intelligence and large language models for failure prediction, an action agent for executing alerts and maintenance workflows, and a monitoring agent for overseeing system performance. The system operates through a continuous sense-reason-act loop, analyzing real-time and historical data to identify potential failures before occurrence. The architecture includes fail-safe and self-healing mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted operation and is designed to be hardware-agnostic for compatibility with diverse elevator systems. The invention enables predictive maintenance, reduces risk of accidents, and enhances safety by providing intelligent, automated, and proactive elevator monitoring and intervention."
