MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127028 A) filed by Army Design Bureau, New Delhi, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'an aerial payload deployment system and an aerial vehicle thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Singh, Akash; Meena, Surendra Kumar; and Shekhar.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An aerial vehicle deployment system and an aerial vehicle (100) for the deployment of a payload is disclosed. The aerial vehicle (100) includes a frame (102), and a mounting platform (106) mounted underneath the frame (102). Further, the aerial vehicle (100) includes a deployment mechanism (108) coupled to the mounting platform (106). The deployment mechanism (108) includes at least one spool (110) rotatably attached to the mounting platform (106), and at least one cable (112) wound on the at least one spool (110). Further, the deployment mechanism (108) includes at least one motor (114) operatively coupled to the at least one spool (110) for winding and unwinding of the at least one cable (112). Further, the deployment mechanism (108) includes a payload mount coupled to a free end of the at least one cable (112) for suspending the payload underneath the frame (102)."
