MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521133664 A) filed by Mit Art, Design And Technology University, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'an adjustable formwork for variable beam sizes.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Yuvaraj Bhirud; Dr. Rajshekhar Rathod; Sagar Sonawane; and Dr. Amit Dharnaik.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an adjustable formwork (100) for casting beams of variable widths, heights, and lengths, particularly for prestressed concrete applications. The formwork 5 10 (100) comprises a base plate (10) with a plurality of holes (12) for defining beam width, a fixed side plate (20), a movable side plate (30) with fixing holes secured using a nut-bolt assembly, a fixed vertical plate (40), a movable vertical plate (50) with holes (42, 52) for prestressing cables, and an L-shaped angle (60) for reinforcement and locking. The side grooves (22, 34) guide the movable vertical plate (50), enabling adjustment of beam length."
