MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511114101 A) filed by Integral University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 20, 2025, for 'an adaptive sliding-mode-based modified structure control system for robust nonlinear process management.'
Inventor(s) include Sarfaraz Alam; and Syed Adnan Afaq.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is an adaptive sliding-mode-based modified structure control system for robust nonlinear process management (100) comprises an adaptive sliding surface generator (102) that produces time-varying sliding surfaces. A modified structure control module (104) dynamically transitions among linear, nonlinear, and fractional-order sub-controllers based on system states and uncertainty estimates, while an intelligent gain scheduling module (106) adaptively tunes controller gains using process-dependent metrics. A disturbance estimation and compensation unit (108) predicts and mitigates internal and external disturbances, assisted by a chattering minimization engine (110) employing boundary layer and high-order algorithms. A multi-objective optimization module (112) balances accuracy, energy, and actuator efficiency, whereas a fault-tolerant control module (114) ensures stability under sensor or actuator faults. A predictive modified sliding mode module (116) forecasts process states, a multi-variable coupling compensation unit (118) decouples interactions, and a self-tuning control module (120) adaptively updates parameters for optimal nonlinear process performance."
