MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511103567 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'an accreditation framework for indian higher education institutions grounded in parental perceptions.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Avnish Vijay.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a Parental-Perception-Based Accreditation Framework and method thereof for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. The present framework comprises parental expectations as a central evaluative component within accreditation systems to improve transparency, accountability, and stakeholder inclusion. The model is structured around five core dimensions: Goodwill and Reputation, Facilities, Affordability and Safety, Curriculum and Academic Flexibility, and Discipline and Ethics, each representing a critical determinant of parental trust in higher education institutions. The model uses both qualitative and quantitative data derived from parental feedback to develop institutional trust indices and accreditation scores that complement existing regulatory compliance systems. It introduces a hybrid evaluation process that merges parental perception with traditional accreditation parameters to produce a composite score reflecting both performance and stakeholder confidence."
