MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006592 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'amusement-based adjustable walking assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Ruchi Singla; and Dr. Shweta Lamba.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An amusement-based adjustable walking assistive device, comprising a pair of elongated bodies 1 each installed with a plate 2 over which user accommodates foot, a motorized hinge 4 deploys a C-shaped member 3 installed on each of plates 2 for securely gripping foot, a camera 11 mounted on one plates 2 for detecting user's height, a motorized sliders 5 configured between each plates 2 and bodies 1 for translating plates 2 as per user's height for allowing user to comfortably grip handle 6, a gyro sensor arranged on each bodies 1 which detects misbalancing of bodies 1 and based on which a weighted block 7 is translated by a two-axis sliding unit 8 for preventing user from falling on ground, an inverted U- shaped unit 9 provides support to each bodies 1 and an electromagnetic spring expand and compress for assisting user in walking."
