MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517089543 A) filed by Evonik Operations Gmbh, Essen, Germany, on Sept. 19, for 'aluminum oxide dispersions for use as separator coating in secondary batteries.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An aqueous dispersion containing aluminum oxide powder, characterized in that the aluminum oxide powder is present in the form of aggregated primary particles with an aggregate particle size distribution with a median aggregate particle size (D50) of 220 nm to 500 nm, as determined by dynamic light scattering measurement, and wherein the aluminum oxide powder has a BET of 10 m2/g to 100 m2/g, in an amount of at least 20 wt.%, preferably 40 to 60 wt.%, and more preferably 50 to 60 wt.% based on the total weight of the dispersion, and that the dispersion further comprises: - at least one carboxylic acid from the group consisting of dicarboxylic acids and/or hydroxy tricarboxylic acids having from 2 to 7 carbon atoms, and - at least one amino alcohol having from one to six carbon atoms, preferably DMEA (dimethylethanolamine), 2-Amino-2-Methyl-1 -Propanol."
