MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084753 A) filed by Cnh Industrial Technology Services Private Limited, New Delhi, on Dec. 12, 2023, for 'alternator with viscous technology.'
Inventor(s) include Yogesh; Sunil Bishnoi; and Laxmi Narayan Dass Goel.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for increasing the operational efficiency of an energy conversion device in a vehicle. The method includes receiving a threshold value corresponding to the energy state of an energy storage device, as well as an indication of an energy state of the energy storage device and the operational state of the energy conversion device. The method further involves determining if the indication of the energy state exceeds the threshold value. In response to determining that the energy state exceeds the threshold value and the energy conversion device is in a charging state, a control signal is transmitted to engage a clutch mechanism, thereby decoupling the energy conversion device from a shaft mechanically connected to the vehicle's drive mechanism."
