MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104606 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'air purification system for indoor air quality improvement.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Varun Kumar; Dr. Ankur Bahl; Dr. Sunaina Ahuja; and Balpreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An air purification system for indoor air quality improvement comprises of a dual-stage filter 101 including the Intense Field Dielectric (IFD) filter for fine particulate matter removal and the zeolite-based filter for volatile organic compound (VOC) adsorption, the system further comprises a real-time air quality monitoring unit 102 equipped with sensors to measure PM2.5, PM10, VOCs, noise, and humidity, which continuously provide data to a machine learning-based predictive control module, the predictive module employs Lasso Regression to forecast AQI and automatically adjusts operational parameters such as airflow and filter activity, the system is optimized using Computational Fluid Dynamics 103 (CFD) simulations to ensure efficient airflow and maximal filtration while minimizing energy consumption, additionally, the system is IoT-compatible and scalable for deployment in smart homes, offices, and sustainable building environments, providing anticipatory purification and maintaining high indoor air quality in real time."
