MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105672 A) filed by Chitkara University; and Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation, Rajpura, Punjab, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'air purification device for building openings.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajesh Kumar Kaushal; Dr. Sanjeev Verma; Manya; Dr. Vaishali Panda; Dr. Sudarson Jena; and Dr. S. Sreenivasa.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An air purification device for building openings, comprises of a body 101 configured to be installed in a building opening having an air inlet and an air outlet to enable smooth airflow, a multilayer filtration module housed within the body 101 comprising a pre-filter 102, a HEPA filter 103, and an activated carbon filter 104 arranged in layers for removing dust, allergens, pollutants, and odors, a cavity panel 105 within the body 101 having a symmetrical outlet panel for securely holding the filtration module, a plurality of dust sensors for monitoring dust concentration and triggering appropriate filters, an electrochromic glass panel 106 mounted within the cavity panel 105 operable via a motorized sliding unit 107 to adjust sunlight intensity, and a microcontroller configured to control and coordinate the operation of the filtration module, sensors, sliding unit 107, and electrochromic glass panel 106 based on sensor inputs."
