MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123480 A) filed by Hcl Technologies Limited, New Delhi, on Dec. 8, 2025, for 'air-cooled internal combustion engine for vehicle and impingement cooling sleeve thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Vijay Kumar Turaga; Pradeep AG; Jaikumar V; and Shivakumar Bhavi.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An air-cooled internal combustion (IC) engine (102) for a vehicle (100) is disclosed. The air-cooled engine (102) includes a cylinder (104) and a sleeve body (112). The sleeve body (112) is integrally formed with at least one portion (108) of an exterior surface (106) of the cylinder (104). Additionally, the sleeve body (112) includes a plurality of perforations (205) configured to allow impinging of air jets onto the exterior surface (106). Further, the sleeve body (112) defines a circumferential outflow path (206) formed adjacent to the exterior surface (106) and configured to allow circumferential outflow of the air jets impinging on the exterior surface (106)."
