MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541126525 A) filed by The Principal, K. S. R. College Of Engineering, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 14, 2025, for 'aiding the efficacy of concrete using afrp composites.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method and system for aiding the efficacy of concrete structures using Aramid Fibre Reinforced Polymer composites. AFRP sheets, laminates, strips, rods, or wraps are externally bonded, near-surface mounted, or used for confinement of concrete members to enhance flexural strength, shear resistance, axial capacity, ductility, fatigue and impact performance, and long-term durability. The method includes appropriate surface preparation, bonding, and curing to ensure composite action. The invention provides a lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and sustainable strengthening solution for rehabilitation, retrofitting, and upgrading of concrete infrastructure."
