The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The AI Voice Dental Assistant is an interactive voice system designed to improve dental healthcare services through automated communication and efficient task management. Traditional dental practices rely on manual scheduling, consultation support, and record management. These methods often cause delays, increase workloads, and lower patient engagement. To address these issues, the system combines Speech-to-Text (STT), Natural Langu~ge Processing (NLP), and Text-to-Speech (TTS) technologies for smooth real-time communication between the user and the application. The assistant captures voice input, understands dental-related questions using transformer-based NLP models, and provides accurate and helpful responses for preliminary diagnosis and oral health advice. It also handles appointment booking, patient record access, and automated replies to common questions, which boosts clinical efficiency. Created as a web application using Flask and cloud-based AI services, the assistant can be accessed across various devices and does not require expensive local hardware. The interface offers both audio and text responses for improved interaction and user comfort. This project shows how AI voice assistance can enhance the dental field by improving communication, reducing manual tasks, and supporting a better workflow. The results demonstrate its effectiveness in helping both patients and dental professionals in a smart, innovative way."
