MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511131210 A) filed by Poornima University; and Dr. Shikha Sharma, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Dec. 24, 2025, for 'ai-powered video summarization system for emergency and disaster response.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Shikha Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The current innovation is in terms of an AI-driven system of video summarization of emergency and disaster-related response situations. The system grabs uncoded video streams of the drones, CCTV and surveillance cameras and automatically pulls out brief summaries containing vital details, such as trapped persons, waving victims, and blocked roads, fire attacks, and collapsed buildings. The invention is built upon object detection algorithms using deep learning, motion processor algorithms, and eent prioritization algorithms to shorten video duration without losing any crucial details needed to rescue people. This helps the emergency response people to respond quicker, thus saving lives and resources in case of floods, earthquakes, accidents, and other disasters."
