MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123016 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'ai-powered skin disease detection system using high-resolution imaging.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system for automated skin disease detection. The system includes a high-resolution imaging module configured to capture dermatological images at a resolution of at least 224 224 pixels, an image preprocessing module configured to perform noise reduction, color normalization, and skin segmentation on the captured dermatological images, a deep learning classification module having a neural network trained on a diverse annotated dataset of dermatological images, wherein the deep learning classification module is configured to classify skin conditions and achieve a ROC-AUC performance of at least 0.8685, a diagnostic output module configured to generate classification results with confidence scores for the classified skin conditions, and a user interface module configured to receive the dermatological images as inputs and display the classification results as diagnostic outputs, wherein the system is configured to complete inference processing within one second per dermatological image."
