MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531110496 A) filed by Pbbr Healthcare Technologies Private Limited, Khorda, Orissa, on Nov. 13, for 'ai-powered orthodontic imaging and bracket positioning system with robotic arm and gantry mechanism.'
Inventor(s) include Rasna Tripathy; Bhagabati Prasad Dash; and Manish Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an AI-powered orthodontic imaging and bracket positioning system incorporating a gantry mechanism, robotic arm, and intelligent imaging unit for orthodontic applications. The system comprises a stand constructed from aluminum extrusion profiles, a multi-axis gantry with chrome rods and GT2 belts for stable camera translation, and a robotic arm with articulated joints for fine angular positioning. A high resolution camera with adjustable LED illumination captures intraoral images, while an integrated compact processor executes artificial intelligence algorithms to detect patient head movement, track facial landmarks, and generate bracket alignment overlays in real time. A display interface provides indirect vision, dynamic guidance, and user controls for illumination, positioning, and workflow management. The invention compensates for involuntary patient movement, reduces operator fatigue, and ensures millimeter-level precision in bracket placement. Compact embodiments with 3D-printed gantry frames further enable portability. The system enhances accuracy, efficiency, and patient comfort in orthodontic treatment."
