MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123214 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'ai-powered mental health support system using natural language processing.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system for providing mental health support. The system includes a user interface configured to receive text input from a user, an emotion classification module having a trained machine learning model configured to analyze the text input and classify emotional states of the user, and a response generation module having a trained language model configured to generate therapeutic responses. The emotion classification module and the response generation module are integrated such that the therapeutic responses are generated based on the classified emotional states. The system architecture (FIG. 1) operates through multiple layers including a UI layer, input layer, processing layer, decision layer, output layer, infrastructure layer, and database layer that collectively process user communications and deliver personalized mental health support through natural language processing and machine learning techniques."
