MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018155 A) filed by Vel Tech Multi Tech Dr Rangarajan Dr Sakunthala Engineering College; Arunkumar S; Dr. M. Selvam; Velmurugan R; and Sanjay Samanna B, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 18, for 'ai powered hospital chatbot for outpatient appointment management.'

Inventor(s) include Arunkumar S.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In modem industries, machinery health and reliability play a vital role in maintaining continuous production and reducing operational costs. Traditional maintenance methods, such as reactive and preventive maintenance, often lead to unplanned downtimes, excessive repair expenses, and inefficient use of resources. To overcome these limitations, an AI-IoT Integrated Predictive Maintenance System is developed to intelligently monitor and predict the condition of industrial machines in real time. The proposed system employs IoT-based sensors-such as temperature, vibration, and sound sensors-to continuously collect data from machinery. The data is processed by a microcontroller (e.g., ESP32) and transmitted to a cloud platform for analysis. Using Artificial Intelligence (Al) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms, the system detects abnormal patterns, predicts possible faults, and estimates the remaining useful life (RUL) of components. This integration of Al and IoT enables industries to shift from reactive to proactive maintenance strategies, reducing downtime, enhancing equipment life, and improving overall productivity. The system can send real-time alerts through display units or wireless communication modules, allowing timely corrective actions. Thus, the AI- IoT integrated predictive maintenance system represents a crucial step toward achieving smart, safe, and sustainable industrial operations under the Industry 4.0 framework."
