MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641047778 A) filed by Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, on April 15, for 'ai-powered home intrusion detection and alert system.'
Inventor(s) include Malaiarasan; Appadurai M; and Ameer Riyaz M.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The AI-Powered Home Intrusion Detection and Alert System is an advanced security platform designed to protect residential and small commercial spaces by leveraging artificial intelligence, computer vision, and real-time alert mechanisms. This system integrates smart sensors, IP cameras, and machine learning models to continuously monitor entry points and surrounding environments, instantly identifying unauthorized access attempts, suspicious movements, and potential security threats. Traditional home security systems are largely passive and reactive relying on motion sensors, alarms, or manual camera monitoring. They generate frequent false alarms and provide little intelligence about the nature of the threat. This project proposes a proactive, AI-driven architecture that can distinguish between legitimate occupants and intruders, detect anomalous behavior patterns, and automatically notify homeowners and emergency services in real time."
