MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611022743 A) filed by ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 26, for 'ai-powered digilocker-based documentless admission and verification system and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Anmol Anand; Ayush Jain; and Kadambri Agrawal.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-powered, DigiLocker-based documentless admission and verification system for educational institutions. The system authenticates applicants using Aadhaar-based identity verification and retrieves government-verified documents directly from DigiLocker upon consent. Artificial intelligence extracts structured data to automatically populate admission forms, while a verification engine performs cross-document consistency checks to detect mismatches or potential fraud. A decision management module evaluates eligibility in real time and generates automated admission decisions or exception flags. By eliminating manual document submission and institutional document storage, the invention enables secure, scalable, and efficient admissions while preventing duplicate or fraudulent applications through a standardized verification platform."
