MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133353 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'ai powered communication platform for deaf and mute.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "AI Powered Communication Platform For Deaf and Mute The Sign Language Interpretation System is a web-based tool created to help people communicate more easily, especially petween those who can hear and those who cannot. It changes spoken words or typed text into sign language and shows the signs instantly using a 3D animated character. The system uses modem technology to make sure the signs are clear and easy to understand. It is designed to be simple and user-friendly, so anyone can use it for daily conversations or to learn sign language. Currently, it supports American Sign Language, and future versions are planned to include other regional sign languages. Generally, this system helps reduce communication barriers, supports learning, and helps better kind and presence of people who use sign language."
