MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611025727 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on March 5, for 'ai-powered cab safety device for women's protection and emergency response.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an AI-powered smart cab safety system designed to enhance passenger security, particularly for women, during taxi and app-based cab travel. The system integrates driver authentication, in-cab cameras, microphones, motion sensors, optional gas sensors, GPS tracking, and an artificial intelligence processing module to continuously monitor driver behavior, passenger condition, and the cabin environment in real time. Emergency notifications, including real-time location and optional encrypted audio-video data, are transmitted to trusted contacts and authorities. A passenger mobile application enables live tracking, voice-activated SOS, and two-way communication. The invention provides a proactive, intelligent, and secure solution for safer and more reliable cab transportation."
