MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521097144 A) filed by Farmiot Agtech Private Limited, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Oct. 8, 2025, for 'ai-iot based smart onion storage system.'

Inventor(s) include Prakhar Patidar; and Arvind Patidar.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "AI-IOT Based Smart Onion Storage System An IoT-based smart perishable material storage system is provided including for onion storage that addresses the limitations of traditional storage methods dependent only on passive ventilation. The invention integrates a multi-unit system comprising an air circulation and conditioning unit, a harmful gas elimination unit, and a conditioned air distribution unit, all controlled by an IoT-enabled environment monitoring and control unit. The smart onion storage system includes a network of sensors for temperature, humidity, and gas detection, which continuously transmit real-time data to a cloud server via an MQTT protocol. A mobile application allows remote monitoring, automated alerts, and user control of the storage conditions. By maintaining a controlled microclimate and enabling user access from anywhere, the invention minimizes spoilage, extends onion shelf life, and ensures efficient post-harvest management."
