MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102928 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'ai-integrated surveillance system for real-time passenger safety monitoring in public transport hubs.'
Inventor(s) include Komal Singh Gill; and Amandeep Kaur.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An AI-integrated surveillance system (100) for public transport hubs is disclosed, comprising high-definition cameras (102), an AI edge processor (104), a behavior classification engine (106), and emergency alert dispatch logic (108). The cameras (102) capture real-time passenger video streams, which are processed by the edge AI processor (104) to detect facial expressions, poses, gestures, and crowd density. The behavior classification engine (106) evaluates risk levels of aggressive, distressed, or suspicious behaviors, dynamically adjusting thresholds based on crowd concentration. Emergency alert dispatch logic (108) issues notifications including video clips, timestamps, and GPS locations to security personnel, control room dashboards, and emergency services when risk thresholds are exceeded. A feedback loop (112) continuously refines the AI models, enabling adaptive, scalable, low-latency, and privacy-compliant passenger safety monitoring, improving situational awareness, reducing human oversight, and preventing incidents proactively."
