MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133109 A) filed by Amity University, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'ai-integrated adaptive multi-layer perovskite spect system for real-time multi-isotope spectral unmixing and dose optimization.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Praveen Kumar Maduri; Kushagra Singh; Rishav Kumar; and Ashutosh Kumar Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An AI-integrated SPECT imaging system (100) combines a multi-layer perovskite detector assembly (20) with real-time spectral unmixing and adaptive dose optimization. Gamma rays from a patient (10) are detected by vertically-stratified perovskite layers (21, 22, 23, 24, 25) with independent electrode arrays (26) and insulating spacers (27), enabling depth-of-interaction based energy discrimination. An FPGA processor module (30) including a signal processing block (31), CNN classifier (32) and memory (33) classifies each event by isotope identity in real time. A reconstruction console (40) with event accumulation module (41), spectral unmixing processor (42) and image reconstruction engine (43) generates separate three-dimensional activity maps for multiple isotopes during acquisition. A quality assessment and dose control system (50) with quality metrics calculator (51) and adaptive dose controller (52) monitors image quality and provides feedback (53) to adjust scan duration, reducing imaging time and patient radiation dose."
