MUMBAI, India, Dec. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102366 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, for 'ai-enhanced robotic arm system for autonomous hazardous waste handling in industrial environments.'

Inventor(s) include Harshpreet Kaur; and Dr. Manik Rakhra.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses an AI-enhanced robotic arm system (100) for autonomous hazardous waste handling in industrial environments. The system (100) integrates a multi-degree-of-freedom robotic manipulator with modular end-effectors (102), an advanced sensor suite (104), an AI processing unit (106), and a cloud-enabled monitoring interface (108). The system (100) autonomously detects, classifies, and securely handles hazardous materials, including toxic, corrosive, flammable, and radioactive substances. Digital twin simulation enables predictive hazard assessment, and adaptive AI algorithms optimize robotic arm movements. The system (100) supports closed-loop workflows, remote supervision, predictive maintenance, emergency override, and compliance logging. It is scalable, modular, and suitable for chemical plants, nuclear facilities, and pharmaceutical industries, providing a safe, efficient, and intelligent solution for hazardous waste management while minimizing human exposure and maintaining operational and regulatory compliance."
