MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511022385 A) filed by Valiance Analytics Pvt. Ltd., Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2025, for 'ai-enabled system for automated vehicle counting and categorization and related methods.'
Inventor(s) include Ram Patidar.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The method and system for vehicle and traffic analytics involve capturing a video stream of an area of interest using dynamic data monitoring units. Image frames are extracted and preprocessed to obtain normalized frames, which are then input into a deep neural network backbone to generate feature maps. Vehicles are detected at different spatial scales, assigned unique identifiers, and tracked across frames to maintain consistent identities. Vehicle re-identification is performed using deep appearance feature embeddings, and vehicles are classified into predefined classes. Virtual boundaries are defined for vehicle counting events, and data is aggregated to generate traffic analytics data, including category-wise counts and density metrics. The system can be implemented with edge computing devices and cloud infrastructure, and supports real-time visualization and monitoring of traffic data."
