MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521102162 A) filed by Dr. Rahul Ambadas Gore; Dr. Pallavi Rahul Gore; and Dr. Rowan Connell, Pune, Maharashtra, on Oct. 23, for 'ai-enabled system and method for predicting fetal distress and determining safe delivery timing for baby.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rahul Ambadas Gore; Dr. Pallavi Rahul Gore; and Dr. Rowan Connell.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine Learning(ML)-enabled system and method for predicting fetal distress and suggesting a safe time for baby delivery. The system(100) comprises a Data Acquisition Module(104), Data Retrieval and Pre-Processing Module(115), AI/ML Ensemble Construction Module(108, 109), Expert System(112), Human-in-the-Loop(111), and a User Graphical Interface(105). The system integrates maternal, fetal, placental, ultrasound, biochemical, and CTG data to generate accurate fetal distress predictions and delivery recommendations. The invention primarily addresses the critical issue of intrapartum fetal heartbeat monitoring during labour, where continuous assessment is vital for preventing fetal harm. The system automatically monitors and interprets maternal, placental, and fetal parameters to display predictions in a "traffic light" alert system, enabling clinicians to make timely and informed decisions. Explainable AI provides clinical transparency, while clinician validation ensures reliability. Continuous training and cloud integration enable global model enhancement."
